Summary

Administrative Assistants are responsible for providing services that support the planning and delivery of Arc services. Their responsibilities include establishing systems and maintaining computer databases and files for financial and administrative management information. Incumbents represent management in routine communications both inside and outside the Agency. They accomplish their tasks utilizing effective customer service skills that promote cooperation and support for consumers and staff.

Requirements

  1. Provide clerical support as assigned for managers, supervisors and staff.
  2. Effective interpersonal skills in fulfilling customer service requirements for consumers and their families, staff, volunteers and external constituents (customers, regulatory agencies, vendors, etc.).
  3. Assignments may include phone and receptionist coverage, document production, filing, handling mail and records maintenance.
  4. Supports the Goals and Mission of Arc of Onondaga County. Ensures that your communications and personal performance reflect the Agency's commitment teamwork, compliance with policies and procedures and respect for consumers and staff.
  5. Attends and participates in required Agency, program and/or department meetings, staff development and training programs.
  6. Establishes and provides clear and legible documentation and compliance records required by Arc and other government agencies.
  7. Perform clerical duties as assigned including but not limited to bulk mailings, copying, sorting, collating, alphabetizing and organizing binders.
  8. Expected to conduct all agency business and complete job responsibilities in accordance with agency Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Plan.
  9. Provides other job-related support and services as required or assigned by management.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Related administrative experience preferred.
  • Combination of education and experience which, in the judgement of the employer, equals above standards.
  • Administrative and communications skills to fulfill position requirements.

All Microsoft Office and specifically Excel skills are a must. Administrative and communications skills to fulfill position requirements. Excellent organizational skills, multi-tasking, professionalism, and attention detail are a requirement.
