Production Worker

Part-Time Opening

The Production Worker is responsible for doing contract work such as assembly, inspection, recycling, cleaning and other direct labor operations at one of Monarch's industrial or manufacturing sites.  Responsibilities include working with and providing team support to participants hired for development and competitive employment positions.  Production, manufacturing and/or warehouse operations may operate under contract at a community-based client's site or at a Monarch work center site. 

Requirements

  1. Achieve quality results consistent with Monarch contract standards.

  2. Provide team support to participants and other Production Workers.

  3. Maintain compliance with Local, State and Federal environmental and OSHA regulations.

  4. Maintain compliance with Local, State and Federal regulations for working with people with developmental disabilities.

  5. Meet or exceed production standards set by Monarch management.

  6. Works flexible hours, days, evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary in order to meet the needs of contract requirements.

  7. May be required to arrive at a job site without the use of a company vehicle.

  8. Must maintain job-required certifications and/or licenses.

  9. Performs regular preventative maintenance checks and repairs as needed.

  10. Fills in for assigned site staff in an emergency.

  11. Supports the Goals and Mission of Arc of Onondaga County. Ensures that your communications and personal performance reflect the Agency's commitment to teamwork, compliance with policies and procedures and respect for participants and staff.

  12. Attends and participates in required Arc meetings, staff development and training programs.

  13. Provides other job-related support and services as required or assigned by management.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Six months of related experience.

  • Combination of education and experience which, in the judgement of the employer, equals above standards.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

Work requires consistent physical exertion equivalent to lifting up to 50 pounds, for approximately 25% - 75% of their workday, while assisting consumers, moving materials and/or operating equipment.  Incumbents are frequently exposed to undesirable environmental conditions.  Position requirements for physical stamina, endurance, and physical manipulation are significant.  Accountabilities require sustained amounts of time sitting, walking and/or standing.  The use of safety equipment and/or specific precautions is required.
